Pitchers
A Pitcher carries water, the lifeline of the desert. Inspired by my surrounding, I designed a few sets of unique pitchers. The word pitcher comes from the 13th-century Middle English word picher, which means earthen jug. The early mention of a pitcher goes all the way back to the Book of Genesis.
One shape created with the ancient shapes of the 13th century in mind, yet with a unique contemporary twist. They are poured from molds in ceramic.
The second set of pitchers are inspired by the wildlife here in the desert, specifically the birds.
The color glazes reflect the colors of the barren desert land, that is yet so alive. It is a never-ending fascination to watch the shifts in color from morning to night, and the changing seasons; a continuous inspiration to my work.
Slip Cast
The pitchers/vases are poured in ceramic from molds which originate from a hand built design. They can be reproduced, so you can order entire sets in various glaze finishes.
Unique Creations
Each one is one of a kind, hand built originals in clay and individually glazed. Custom designs are available.
